דניאל פישר מרבה לעסוק בעבודותיה בסצנות של בריחה, הימלטות מאסון, וחיפוש אחר אפשרות לחיים חדשים, המהדהדים את סיפור הגירוש וההגירה של משפחת אמה ממצרים בשנת 1956. המשפחה גורשה והיגרה לפריס, משם עלתה אמה בנעוריה לישראל, והחלה במסע נדודים שכלל מעברים ותחנות רבות בדרך. נרטיב הבריחה, הנדודים וההישרדות, המאפיין לא רק את חייה של אמה אלא סיפורי הגירה ופליטות רבים, מלווה את עבודותיה של פישר, תוך שהיא מנסה לאתגר תפיסות סטריאוטיפיות השגורות בפוליטיקת הזהויות המקומית.  

התערוכה "הבטחת לי קשת" היא מיצב תלוי מקום שנבנה עבור הגלריה, העוסק בנרטיב של בריחה מפני סכנת חורבן כלשהי ובחיפוש אחר מנוחה ומקלט. בה בשעה שזהו נרטיב קולקטיבי המלווה את הקיבוץ ואת מדינת ישראל מראשית ימיהם, זהו גם נרטיב אישי המייצג את סיפור בריחתה של האם ממצרים. המיצב מפגיש בין רישום לפיסול, בין דו ממד לתלת ממד ובין פנים לחוץ, תוך שהוא מהדהד, כפי שמרמז שמו, את סיפור המבול המקראי. על קירות הגלריה נתלו פסלי עץ שטוחים של חיות נרדפות וחצים שלוחים. החיות השחורות כפיח נדמות לניצולות שריפה, או אולי לצללים שטוחים על קירות מערה, והן שואבות השראה בעיצובן מאסתטיקה של ציורי מערות קדומים. יצירתן כרוכה בעמל רב: לאחר שצוירו ביד והועתקו אל משטחי העץ, נוסרו דימויי החיות במסור חשמלי, נצבעו והפכו לפסלים דו ממדיים, או אולי לרישומים חומריים שנוצרו מהתנגדות החומר ללהב המסור. במרכז החלל נבנתה תמונת נוף: מקווה מים - אולי מעיין - ועץ לצדו. מעין פנטזיה מדברית על חיים חדשים, נווה מדבר המציע מפלט ואפשרות לשיקום. אלא שהעץ הוא ענף עקור ומת, ומקווה המים עשוי יריעת פי.וי.סי מודפסת - חומר תעשייתי זול המתחזה למים חיים ומייצר פנטזיה מלאכותית על טבע מדברי אקזוטי. ואולי מציעה פישר בבחירותיה החומריות, כי אפשרות השיקום והגאולה, הבניה של בית חדש, כרוכה בהכרח בחיבור לטבע ובשיקומו.

בצדה השני של הגלריה, כנגד סצנת הבריחה ונווה המדבר, יצרה פישר כוך עץ המדמה סטודיו אינטימי, ובו שולחן עבודה וחלון בעל שלוש כנפיים, הנפתח כטריפטיך של ציור נוף. בכך היא מנסחת מתח בין חלל הסטודיו הסגור - מרחב פנימי של השראה ויצירה - לבין סביבה חיצונית רדופה ומלאת סכנות. על השולחן מונחים חומרים ותוצרי יצירה, עפרונות צבעוניים ותצלומים של השתברויות אור צבעוניות. נדמה כי האמנית מנסה ליצור בסטודיו קשת צבעונית בשלמותה, כמו מבקשת לשחזר את ההבטחה האלוהית הגלומה בהופעת הקשת בענן בסיפור המבול, שלא ימיט שוב חורבן על העולם על אף חטאי האדם. כנגד סצנת הבריחה מאסון הנרמזת בתערוכה, תוהה האמנית בהתרסה איה הקשת שהובטחה לה, וחיי השלום והביטחון שהיא מייצגת. בניסיון הנואל לייצר בעצמה את הקשת החמקמקה, היא כמו מבקשת לאחוז בהבטחה לחיי שקט ושלווה. כמו החיות במנוסה, היא נמלטת אל הסטודיו בחיפוש אחר הגנה מפגעי העולם החיצון. ואולי בכך היא מציעה שהאמנות היא מקום המפלט עבורה, ואפשרות הגאולה האמיתית.

You Promised me a Rainbow by Curator Ravit Harari

In her work Danielle Fischer Creates fleeting scenes, of runaways escaping disasters and searching for the possibility of a new life. All these reflect the escape story of her mother that immigrated upon being expelled from Egypt in 1956.

Her and her family were expelled and immigrated to Paris; from there she came to Israe and started a journey of many wanderings that included many stops and transitions, passageways-fleeing, wandering, and survival narratives characterize not only the life of her mother but her own. She gathers narratives of immigrants and refugees but tries to change the stereotypical images and the local politics of identity.

Her show "you Promised me a Rainbow" is a site-specific installation that was created for the gallery and deals with a narrative of running away from any potential dangers of destruction and searching for rest and shelter.

At the same time this is the narrative of creativity accompanying the Kibbutz and state of Israe from the beginning of time and also a personal narrative that represents the story of her mother's fleeing from Egypt.

The installation intersects drawing, sculpture, two-dimension, three-dimension, interior and exterior inside outside and echoes in it's name hints the biblical story of the flood.

 Flat wood sculptures of chased animals and chasing darting arrows were hung on the walls of the gallery.

The animals are black as soot and are as if survivors of a fire, or maybe flat reflections like ancient cave paintings cave, they take inspiration in their design and aesthetic from ancient cave paintings. Their creation entails heavy labor. After being drawn by hand and copied to large wood surfaces, they are carved by the artist holding an electric saw sawing the wood into images of fleeting animals. Then they are painted and become 2 d sculptures or perhaps physical material sketches made from the resistance of the materials to the electric saw.

Danielle builds a scenic Landscape image, At the center of it she creates A body of water maybe an oasis and a tree at its side. The desert fantasy of new life, an oasis that offers refuge and opportunity for revitalizing.

Just that the tree is a dry branch is dead, uprooted and displaced, the water is made of a printed PVC plastic material and an industrial cheap substance impersonating water  giving Life and creating the artificial fantasy of nature and exotic desert landscapes .

By her choices of material Perhaps Fischer suggests that the opportunity for redemption and revitalizing, building a new home is Necessarily involves waking up the connection to nature and saving it.

At the other side of the gallery opposite to the scene of the runaways and the oasis Fischer creates a wood nook that portrays an intimate studio and in it a worktable and window with 3 wings opening as a triptych becoming a landscape painting.

This way she rephrases the tension between the closed studio space- an inner space of inspiration, inspection and creation to the outside world full of potential danger and oppression.

There are creating materials Placed On the table, colored pencils, photographs of broken light creating colors-the rainbow . It seems that the artist is trying to create the complete rainbow as if asking to recreate god's promise that is hidden in the appearance and performance of the rainbow. The story of the flood that he will not bring about such destruction on the word in spite of man's sins.  

Opposite to the disaster that is implied in the exhibit the artist wonders in defiance -where is the rainbow I was promised? And The peace and safety that it represents?

In a desperate attempt to create this elusive evasive rainbow herself she is as if asking to grasp the promise of a peaceful and tranquil life.   Like the fleeting animals running away she runs to her studio in search of protection from the harm of the outer world and maybe this way the artist suggests that art is her refuge & safe haven and perhaps the real possibility of redemption is in the art process.
