Tips for the Glamorous Imposter, Still from video art 25 min
In this video I explore how these women can transform their identity and play with it as an elastic, malleable material, with which they reshape their appearance in the world. During lockdown I lived in a house that was built 1900, Rumors said it was a place woman were sent to when they were "crazy" or their husbands wanted to get rid of them. Each room had a different tile pattern, peeling walls bars with no windows but also hidden creepy beauty. This house was half abandoned half waiting to be refurbished and meanwhile cheep to live in so there I met woman on their way renting rooms per month. The slum lord in charge let anyone in that could pay. These women warned me if dangerous characters came, ext. In this 20 min video I try to capture oral wisdom tips as an encyclopedia of resilience.
You Promised me a Rainbow, Installation View,2023
These sculptures I make by hand with a jig saw, as cave paintings in wood. I create runaway scenes and scenes of hunting that also characterize the middle east. I also create an oasis that in the desert means regeneration and life only that it is made of pvc and the tree is dry . I suggest that life can be created again through nature and creating a sensitive place. This gallery was hurt on the Tragic events of Oct 7th. Curated by Ravit Harari
